Sometimes it isn't at all easy to find a bread made without refined flours and free of animal-derived ingredients (such as eggs, milk, butter, or certain food additives like E471, which can be of plant origin or animal fat), so it's always handy to have a simple recipe that lets us make our own bread quickly and without needing a bread machine.

Unlike white bread, these whole wheat rolls are rich in complex carbohydrates, which let the body get energy gradually and therefore for hours. They also have a higher nutritional value because they are made with flour obtained by grinding the whole grain (whole wheat flour).

Thus, whole wheat bread, besides being richer in vitamin B1, vitamin B3 and, of course, fiber, also provides larger amounts of vitamin B2, vitamin B6, and zinc.

For all these reasons, this type of bread helps maintain blood sugar levels, allows better absorption of both the carbohydrates and the amino acids of the grain, and protects the intestinal lining.
